ZERO TRAFFIC DEATHS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) is committed to eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries within our transportation network by 2040 through our Vision Zero Program.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT
In late 2021, DTPW developed the Vision Zero Framework Plan which identified high-injury crash locations across all roadways in the county, including roads owned and/or maintained by local municipalities or the state (FDOT). In late 2022, 100 locations were selected for further safety analysis, prioritized based on the prevalence of frequent crashes, locations in equity areas, and proximity to transit. Engineering analysis is currently underway to assess context-sensitive safety countermeasures for future implementation.
While crash data analysis is critical to understanding where Vision Zero investments are needed, it does not give a complete picture of safety issues in the County. In order to better understand the daily experience of using Miami-Dade County roads, this effort also wants to draw from the collective knowledge of local communities. Your feedback in the next two surveys will help us identify the appropriate context-sensitive solutions for our projects.
